About the Artist
In the early 1980's, Indie's work was mainly abstract, counting on the beautiful textures and colors of the glass to dictate the design. She exhibited in several galleries in New York City, and began to explore the idea of stained glass in window displays of department stores. Although interest was generated, life's circumstances postponed her commercial art endeavors. A decade later, she began painting, and won placement in a national juried art show. Indie explored mixed media projects, as well as painting, but always gravitated back to stained glass. Her art work evolved from abstract to expressionistic to realistic; from working with large pieces to piecing together small tiles; from lead came to foil to grouting ... always exploring the boundaries of this powerful medium. She lives in northern New Jersey with her husband, Alberto, and their three sons. |
